Jersey Grant- Vocational Training for Youth

SEEDS Trust with the support Jersey Grant through ICT U.K has partnered with RIDE Trust, Dindigul for a Vocational Training Program for Youth in Marianathapuram, one of the thickly populated area, where the under developed schedule caste people live.

Area Covered: Kullanampatty, West and East Marianathapuram, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar and Mettupatti Nagal Nagar.

Criteria for selecting the Trade Trainees: Schedule caste youth who are orphans, one-parented children, deserted, school dropouts, economically poor and aged 15 To 18 years

The boys are taught on Motor coil winding Trade (15 boys) – Three-phase motor, Single-phase motor – mechanism and coil winding.

• Pump mechanism
• Pump motor winding
• Three phase and single phase rewinding

The young girls are taught on Home appliances Servicing Trade (14 girls) - Fan, mixie, grinder, iron box, gas stove and fridge along with electrical wiring. They are taught

• Fan coil, baring, capacitor, soft replacing
• Iron box – coil, thermo start, indicator, handle servicing and replacing
• 3-core wire and plug fitting
• Mixie armature, field winding, soft bush and jar blade replacing
• Grinder baring capacitor, winding, belt servicing and fitting works are taught to the young girls
